In various data entry programs, you have the ability to define the different sales tax levels that you wish to use. The different programs will then calculate the actual dollar value of the tax and display it for you. This option allows you to breakdown the different types of taxable and non-taxable items.  This option also allows you to use the state of sale code to breakdown non-taxable codes even further. These are helpful at the end of the month when you need to determine the different categories of non-taxable dollar sales for tax reporting purposes.

Your system comes setup with three (3) sale account codes (AG - Farm Use, GV - Government Use, RS - Resale) which you can modify or add to. If you are planning on adding any sale account codes, you will probably need to write down any codes and evaluate each one's purpose before entering them into the system.  You must also enter any sales tax codes that are applicable to your company.

  1. Go to the Admin>>Update System Information>>T-Sales Tax & Sale Acct Sub-Ledger Codes
